Dr. Douglas Cifranick MVB
Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. C was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Buffalo, NY. He attended University College Dublin Veterinary School located in Dublin, Ireland and graduated in 2014. Dr. C chose to return home to Buffalo, NY to start practicing in his hometown of Hamburg. Although loving the Summer and Fall the northeast offers, he grew tired of the dreary Buffalo winters and decided to take his passion for veterinary medicine to Beaufort and has been working in the Lowcountry since 2015.
Dr. C has a passion for nurturing pets through owner education and preventative medicine. Starting WoofDoctor on Wheels in 2020, he envisioned modern state of the art medicine delivered with an old school approach.
Dr. C married his wife, Monica, in August 2022 and they have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 bearded dragons together (no partridge in a pear tree yet!). In their spare time, you may catch them walking the Spanish Moss Trail, enjoying what Charleston and Savannah have to offer or eating at their favorite places around town. If you see them, make sure to say hello!
Jessica Lee, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
*Technician Appointments Only
Story time! Once upon a time there was a little girl. This little girl liked to help her brother smuggle animals into the house before their parents returned home. Even after being repeatedly told not to bring stray animals into the house. Guess what? That little girl was Jessica. She believes this is where her passion for animals started. That passion led her to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Technology. After college she spent time working in emergency critical care at the University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital.
Although originally from New York, Jessica fell in love with the Lowcountry in 2016. Something about the calm waters and lovely scenery made it feel like home. She has a little human and three fur babies; Chloee her sassy human, Simba an energetic shepherd mix, Wally a dopey mastiff and Luna a feisty calico.
Jessica’s current food addictions are Lowcountry Produce and Urban Brew Company. She tends to plan her day around these two places! Why don’t you join her sometime!
Katie Whalen
Practice Administrator
Katie was born and raised in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. She attended West Virginia University and received her Bachelors in Public Relations and Communications. Soon after graduating, she decided to explore her passion for helping animals. She received her Veterinary Assistant certification in 2014 and began working at a veterinary hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She quickly learned that she loved the fast paced environment of the veterinary world, educating clients, (and loving on their pets of course), and learning about the day-to-day tasks of a veterinary hospital. She was promoted to Assistant Manager of the 6 doctor AAHA-accredited hospital and remained in that position before she and her husband, Drew relocated to Beaufort in 2020. Since then, she was the Hospital Manager at Plantation Animal Hospital on Hilton Head but has recently decided to work closer to home. She is now our Practice Administrator for our growing team at WoofDoctor on Wheels!
She has 2 crazy boxers, Carter and Morgan and enjoys going out on the boat with them and her husband, eating her way through all of Beaufort and spending time with family. On her days off, you can probably find her relaxing and fishing by the water, or just on the couch with a good movie!
Stacie Cifranick, PA-C, MPAS
Administrative Assistant
Stacie was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA where she received her bachelor degree at Clarion University as a Programmer Analyst. She then followed her husband’s career to Buffalo, NY where she raised her 2 children and became a Physician Assistant at D’Youville College.
Family is her passion. Stacie and her husband followed their adults children to Beaufort, SC after too many snowy winters.
Stacie continues to follow her career as a Physician Assistant, volunteering at Good Neighbor Clinic seeing patients while helping with answering phones, scheduling and billing for Dr. C and the Woofdoctor team.
You will see her walking her 3 girls Brook (GSP), Morgan (GSP) and Gracie May (Lab/Basset mix) in Habersham daily. Family, animals and caring for others continues to be her daily motivation.
Matt Billanti
Veterinary Assistant
Matt was born in Charleston, West Virginia and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina until moving to the Lowcountry in 2008. Initially moving to Bluffton he has since lived all over Beaufort county.
He has spent most of his time working in hospitality either cooking, baking or working behind the bar and connecting with the community. Matt is a proud pet owner of his golden retriever Duke and his domestic shorthaired cat Hobbes. In his spare time you could catch Matt walking his dog at Sands Beach, strolling the local farmers market or cooking with friends and family. Some of Matt’s favorite restaurants would be Madison’s in Port Royal, Lowcountry Produce and The Cottage in Bluffton. Matt is looking forward to combining his love of the lowcountry and his passion for the pets within it!
Kimberly Caffero
Veterinary Assistant
When Kimberly was a little wild child growing up in a small town in Texas, she was always finding little critters. She would bring home what she found in the woods. Her mother would always be worried what kind of critter she brought back. Anything from a bug, to a bird, to even a few snakes. Her parents who thought they were going to have a princess-loving princess quickly learned when she was just 4 years old that she was fearless of any critter that she came into contact with. One day, her mother caught her with two handfuls of baby grass snakes as Kimberly said with a giant smile “Look mommy, worms!” Needless to say, she had a destiny to work with animals once she reached adulthood.
When she graduated high school, she enlisted into the United States Marine Corps where she served in two combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and one sea-based deployment that landed her to Africa, Haiti, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Estonia. Kimberly was seeing the world and making memories but she was missing her wife and son who, due to the work tempo of her job in the Marine Corps, kept her away for too long too many times. She knew she wanted more, so she left the Marine Corps in 2014.
Their house is very busy as they have 5 dogs and 3 cats in their home – Boogart, Xena, Boodle, Moose, Winnie, Lemonade, Bo Peep and Echo, respectively. If Kimberly had more property, her house would hold so many more fur babies since she’s convinced 5 dogs and 3 cats are not enough! Helping animals has always been a true passion and she couldn’t be happier working with the Woof Doctor on Wheels!
