Dr. Douglas Cifranick MVB
Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. C was born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in Buffalo, NY. He attended University College Dublin Veterinary School located in Dublin, Ireland and graduated in 2014. Dr. C chose to return home to Buffalo, NY to start practicing in his hometown of Hamburg. Although loving the Summer and Fall the northeast offers, he grew tired of the dreary Buffalo winters and decided to take his passion for veterinary medicine to Beaufort and has been working in the Lowcountry since 2015.
Dr. C has a passion for nurturing pets through owner education and preventative medicine. Starting WoofDoctor on Wheels in 2020, he envisioned modern state of the art medicine delivered with an old school approach.
Dr. C married his wife, Monica, in August 2022 and they have 4 dogs, 2 cats and 2 bearded dragons together (no partridge in a pear tree yet!). In their spare time, you may catch them walking the Spanish Moss Trail, enjoying what Charleston and Savannah have to offer or eating at their favorite places around town. If you see them, make sure to say hello!

Jessica Lee, LVT
Licensed Veterinary Technician
*Technician Appointments Only
Story time! Once upon a time there was a little girl. This little girl liked to help her brother smuggle animals into the house before their parents returned home. Even after being repeatedly told not to bring stray animals into the house. Guess what? That little girl was Jessica. She believes this is where her passion for animals started. That passion led her to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Veterinary Technology. After college she spent time working in emergency critical care at the University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital.
Although originally from New York, Jessica fell in love with the Lowcountry in 2016. Something about the calm waters and lovely scenery made it feel like home. She has a little human and three fur babies; Chloee her sassy human, Simba an energetic shepherd mix, Wally a dopey mastiff and Luna a feisty calico.
Jessica’s current food addictions are Lowcountry Produce and Urban Brew Company. She tends to plan her day around these two places! Why don’t you join her sometime!
Katie Whalen
Practice Manager
Katie was born and raised in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington D.C. She attended West Virginia University and received her Bachelors in Public Relations and Communications. Soon after graduating, she decided to explore her passion for helping animals. She received her Veterinary Assistant certification in 2014 and began working at a veterinary hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She quickly learned that she loved the fast paced environment of the veterinary world, educating clients, (and loving on their pets of course), and learning about the day-to-day tasks of a veterinary hospital. She was promoted to Assistant Manager of the 6 doctor AAHA-accredited hospital and remained in that position before she and her husband, Drew relocated to Beaufort in 2020. Since then, she was the Hospital Manager at Plantation Animal Hospital on Hilton Head but has recently decided to work closer to home. She is now our Practice Administrator for our growing team at WoofDoctor on Wheels!
She has 2 crazy boxers, Carter and Morgan and enjoys going out on the boat with them and her husband, eating her way through all of Beaufort and spending time with family. On her days off, you can probably find her relaxing and fishing by the water, or just on the couch with a good movie!
Cheryl Miller, RVT, CVBL, FFCP (Veterinary), VCC
Registered Veterinary Technician
Cheryl’s journey in the veterinary field began right after high school, where she quickly gained valuable emergency experience while attending college for a business management degree. With a passion for animals, she went back to school and earned a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her love for helping pets deepened after she rehabilitated her own dog, Bruce, inspiring her to specialize in physical rehabilitation.
She then worked at a leading veterinary rehab facility in the California Bay Area, where she became a Primary Therapist. Cheryl’s dedication to veterinary medicine also led her to teach veterinary technology. Seeking new challenges, she transitioned to the innovative world of telemedicine, launching two apps and eventually becoming Head of Teletriage at a third company.
Now with WoofDoctor on Wheels, Cheryl delights in connecting with clients and helping them understand their pets’ health. Her expertise is further enriched by certifications in Fear Free practices and cannabis medicine. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys exploring California’s central coast with her husband, James, and her beloved dog, Bruce. She is also a movie enthusiast and a proud fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
