How Your Pet’s Health Becomes a Powerful Act of Kindness

Every donation made in your pet’s name goes directly into the WoofDoctor on Wheels Angel Fund—a fund we fully manage and oversee, so we can ensure every dollar helps where it’s needed most. This isn’t a national program or third-party charity—it’s a local lifeline, created by WoofDoctor on Wheels, for our own clients and patients facing financial hardship.

Our Why

We understand that veterinary care can be costly and unexpected emergencies can hit hard. Our goal is simple: No cherished patient should ever have to go without essential care due to financial barriers. Your participation and fundraising efforts help us provide urgent support to local families when they need it most—families just like yours.

Donate or Pledge

Your supporters can make a one-time donation or pledge to give $5–$10 per pound your pet loses. Every dollar raised earns points toward amazing prizes, but more importantly, it creates a lasting impact. And who knows? One day, this fund might even help you or someone you love.

We’ll Help Amplify Your Efforts

Share your pet’s progress and we’ll promote it through our social media and email outreach to inspire others to give. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate pet community.

What’s Included?

Veterinarian consulting a cat for the Fit Pets for Rescues contest

Free Initial Consultation & Custom Weight Loss Plan

Normally a $105 fee, but during Fit Pets for Rescues, we’re waiving it. One of our licensed veterinary technicians will visit, take your pet’s starting weight, assess their overall health, and create a personalized plan tailored to their needs. If your pet is already at their ideal weight, we’ll still take their starting weight, but you can focus on crowdfunding to support local pets in need.

Ongoing Remote Monitoring

Normally $9.99/month, the Healthy Pet Connect app is now completely free for our clients.
Track your pet’s weight, food intake, and fitness—all in one place—while our veterinary team provides expert, remote guidance every step of the way.

Think of it like MyFitnessPal for your pet, but with one major upgrade: we’ll review your pet’s data daily and provide personalized medical support to help your pet succeed safely and effectively.

In-Person Check-Ins

Our vet tech will visit your home at the beginning, middle, and end of the contest to check your pet’s weight, review progress, and adjust their plan if needed—all part of your personalized support ($175 total value). These check-ins help ensure your pet stays on track and gets the expert care they deserve throughout their journey.

Why Your Pet’s Weight Significantly Impacts Their Longevity & Health

You care deeply about your pets—they’re part of your family. Naturally, their health and happiness are a top priority. But managing a pet’s weight can be more complicated than it seems. Pet obesity is on the rise, with over 61% of cats and 59% of dogs in U.S. households classified as overweight or obese. Even more concerning, nearly one in three pet parents don’t realize their pet is carrying extra weight.

While the internet might celebrate “chonky” pets as cute and endearing, those extra pounds come at a cost. Excess weight puts pets at risk for serious health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. In fact, just 10% extra body weight can shorten a dog’s life by nearly a third. Fat tissue increases inflammation in the body and provides an ideal environment for cancer cells—making obesity a contributing factor to cancer, now the leading cause of death in dogs.

For cats, even a small weight gain has a big impact. Just 2 extra pounds on a cat is equivalent to a human gaining about 30 pounds. This added weight can make movement difficult and strain their organs and joints. Overweight pets may have less energy, gain weight quickly even on small portions, develop skin or coat problems, and in female pets, experience reproductive cycle disruptions.

The good news? Weight loss—even a small amount—can make a big difference. A reduction of just 6% in body weight can improve mobility for arthritic dogs and help reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
